Third Degree by Julie Cross

First off…Nerdy girl gets the extremely hot, hot guy…

Although, Isabel Jenkins is far from the shy, innocent, bookish nerd that is common to this type of story lines. She is a bad-ass prodigy that’s already interning as a surgeon at the tender age of 18 with a bad-ass attitude to match. She has a razor sharp brain and is not at all afraid to use it.

Then, queue in the hot, athletic, slightly goofy, college guy Marshall.

Alpha male?

Adora-fricki-ble?

Not going to go into all the plot lines of this book. You are just going to have to read it. I will, however, get into what I liked about it.

It was surprising.

In a good…good way.

Isabel is a genius in many ways, including how to alienate and offend others. However, Marshall doesn’t scare so easily and this is where the author really hooks you.

Also, I am a sucker for really good comedic timing. Like when Isabel took a sample (illegally) for testing purposes….More to satisfy her curiosity than to really help out her roommate. Hilarious!

Plot line: Awesome. You won’t put it down.

Characters: Even better. Isabel had enough snark in her to make her interesting but not enough to want to gag her. Marshall….
